I drove my car to Myers Auto Care directly after work when it started sputtering and I couldn't accelerate more than 20mph without problems. I took it to Myers on a recommendation. An ignition coil and a spark plug were replaced. I had recently bought new spark plugs as I knew I needed to replace them. what I paid for all four spark plugs was less than what I paid for one spark plug at Myers. I was charged $439.09 for the fix. I took my car to a friend afterwards to replace the remaining spark plugs. It took him less than 10 minutes. You didn't even need a tool to take the ignition coil off. I was very happy my car was working again (that's the 2 1/2 star rating), but very disappointed in what I was charged.
Kathy I am glad that you are happy with the performance of your car after the repairs but there are costs involved in locating the reason for your car not operating correctly. The first problem we encountered when checking your car was the extremely strong gas odor inside the car and given the fact that your car was running poorly and there was this odor we spent quite a bit of time trying to find a potential fuel leak on your car. This time included removing your child seat and your rear seat to access the fuel door to see if there was fuel leaking at the fuel pump body. We also checked all the fuel lines from front to back and all of your fuel injectors. We even checked in your trunk to see if there was a fuel can in there. After spending this time and finding no leak I called and asked you about the fuel odor and then you told me you had spilled a gas can inside your car. After finding this out we then we proceeded with our testing to determine why your car was not running correctly and found a bad ignition coil which was replaced. I am sorry you are not happy with our pricing but as a professional repair shop we have procedures we follow to find problems on vehicles and repair them and there is a cost involved in us providing this service. Thank You Rusty Myers
